Today was a very special day at Arlington National Cemetery. I had the opportunity to pay respects to some of the men and women that paid the ultimate price for the sake of freedom. I can only aspire to emulate what these heroes have done.

There were thousands of people at Arlington. When I looked at the wreath laying at my home city San Diego Ca. there were less than fifty people paying respects to its heroes. It was very depressing to see how people are so quick to forget a heroes sacrifice.

"Yosemite Valley, to me, is always a sunrise, a glitter of green and golden wonder in a vast edifice of stone and space." - Ansel Adams

I first met his work thanksgiving day 2011 in a strangers home, a photograph book of mountains in black and white. I was inspired how each of the images was captured with such detail and composition. He famously said that god is in the details. His passion and respect for nature shows in his work.

I was surprised when I unknowingly took a similar photo during my Yosemite visit in winter 2014.

"every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion. It is not he who is revealed by the painter; it is rather the painter who, on the coloured canvas, reveals himself.”- Oscar Wilde

I believe that photographs are important, it can stand the test of time better than our own memories it can serve as a historical document our proof of existence. Pictures should be composed with some fore thought, to capture the precious moment and emotion in our lives.
Color has the power of suggestion use it to grab your viewers attention and evoke a certain mood or feeling in your photo. Understanding basic color theory will help you portray an event to your preference.

-Annapolis, is the capital of the US state of Maryland and the of home to the US Naval Academy. The city was the temporary capital of the United States in 1783–1784. It is situated on the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Severn River, 26 miles south of Baltimore and about 29 miles east of Washington, D.C.
